Terry Smitheman (Darlaston Remembers)
- In 1942 a new Fire Station was built in Richards Street. The old station housed a towed pump until the end of the war, the car was kept in the yard. After Staffordshire Fire Brigade took control it reverted to Darlaston council and performed a variety of uses by the UDC and later Walsall MBC.
